The major advantage of using polyethylene fuel tanks is that they do not corrode. These fuel tanks have high level long lasting life compared with many other metal tanks available in the market.
This types of fuel tanks also cost less as compared to other boat fuel tanks. The only disadvantage is that some of polyethylene fuel tanks cannot be used for storing diesel fuel.
Fuel tanks that are made up of fiberglass are not very popular. Though, they are not affected by corrosion they are quite expensive and therefore cannot be found with every supplier.
If you are planning to go for a fiberglass tank then make sure to store ethanol-free gasoline if you have purchased the units that have been manufactured before 1980.
Make sure to check the capacity of the fuel tank before making the final decision.
